Baltikums Bank foundation was laid in the mid-90s of the previous century, while the company Baltikums was formed by the shareholders of bank in Latvia, which was dealing with investments, insurance and finance. Subsequently it formed banking Group Baltikums Bank.

Baltikums Bank had been established in 2001 and operates on the foundation of practical Baltikums Group’s achievements, providing services to Latvian resident and to international business representatives of the private and corporate sector. The core of first bank customers consisted of owners representing small and medium-sized business, supplemented by institutional investors and well-off private persons.

Terms of service provided by Baltikums Bank:

• organization of the attendance of the client by private banker;

Types of bank accounts

Personal, corporate (all accounts are multicurrency).

The cost of opening of the account (bank tariff)

For legal entities: 

- with Digi Pass – 300 EUR;

- with Digi Pass and MasterCad Gold debit card – 400 EUR.

For natural persons: 

- with Digi Pass – 250 EUR;

- with Digi Pass and MasterCad Gold debit card – 350 EUR.

This amount has to be placed before the review of documents for account opening.

You can transfer the amount in 2 ways:

- transfer the payment from the web-site of the bank (with any debit card). Purpose of payment – payment for services.

- payment based on the invoice. Purpose of payment – payment for the bank services.

In case if the bank will deny account opening request, amount paid is non-refundable.

Bank’s tariffs

Account maintenance for natural persons and legal entities – 15 EUR per month.

Transfers (USD):

- standard – 50 USD;

- urgent – 75 USD;

- express – 100  USD.

Transfers (EUR):

- urgent – 40 EUR;

- express – 75 EUR.

Terms of opening the account 

The procedure of opening the account consists of two stages: the preliminary stage and final stage of opening an account.

The preliminary stage includes the process of gathering and filing your documents which are required for opening an account; filling out bank forms; certifying and sending documents in the bank office. The terms of this stage depends on you.

The procedure of consideration the documents and reaching the decision by bank regarding opening an account takes from 10 to 12 working days starting from the date when the documents and forms are submitted to the bank main office.

Baltikums Bank follows the “know your client” principle and therefore in each particular case you may be requested to provide any additional information or documents concerning the procedure of opening the account that may take additional time. Bank also may refuse to open the account without any explanations.

Documents for opening an account

Forms for signing are provided at the representative offices of bank while in-person meeting.

Company’s documents – originals of all company’s statutory documents need to be provided. In case that from the date of company incorporation has passed more than one year, the Certificate of Good Standing with Apostil is required.

Documents for the account holder:

- original of national passport;

- original of foreign passport (in case of its presence).

Documents for the beneficiary:

- original of national passport;

- original of foreign passport (in case of its presence).

 Also, 2 documents as minimum from the list below are required:

- proof of employment;

- if beneficiary holds a resident company, the certificate of incorporation and article of association of the company are required;

- document confirming the educational level;

- bank statement from the beneficiary account;

- proof of inheritance;

- bank reference.

The procedure of opening an account

1. Filling in survey questionnaire, which is emailed on your address.

2. Meeting of attorney/beneficiary with a bank representative for signing the required bank’s forms and certifying documents on the company.

The bank account’s requisites may be provided by a bank before the moment of the actual acceptance (opening) of the account.
